Representatives of the different Ministries of the Interior and police forces of the Mercosur countries analyzed the strengthening of border security during the 'First Round of Preparatory Technical Meetings', which began this Wednesday (4.4.2018) in Asunción, in the framework of the preparation of the meeting of the bloc's Ministers of the Interior next June.
Paraguay, which holds the temporary presidency of Mercosur, will host this event to discuss issues of internal security in the different member countries, the Ministry of the Interior reported.
La The purpose of this preliminary meeting is to outline the different topics that will be discussed at the 41st Meeting of Ministers of the Interior and Security of Mercosur.
The debates will focus on criminal phenomena such as nadrug trafficking, terrorism, human trafficking, smuggling, immigration problems, money laundering or exchange of information between the different security forces.
The meeting between the heads of the different interior ministries will also be an opportunity to address issues common to all countries in the bloc, such as the displacement of criminal groups at a transnational level.
For this it is They created specialized groups in different subjects such as citizen security, information technology and communications, training, migration, terrorism or refugees.
Each delegation took advantage of the opportunity offered by today's meeting in Asunción, which will continue for two more days, to show the other participants the different techniques and procedures they develop in each country.
