The terminal includes a huge 51 thousand square meter roofed warehouse where the train will arrive (under cover) to unload the cellulose - from the new Paso de los Toros plant - which will then leave by ship from the port.

The investment projected by UPM for this project required 37 months of construction, with a peak occupation of 550 workers.
The docks at the terminal have a depth of 14,5 meters. This will allow large ships to load their cellulose in Montevideo and reduce transportation costs.
