Arteba Fair 2024: Customs establishes a procedure to streamline customs operational procedures

-

The General Directorate of Customs has determined the procedure for the import and export of works of art that will participate in the 33rd Contemporary Art Fair “arteba 2024”, which will take place from August 28 to September 01, 2024, at the Costa Salguero Center in Buenos Aires.

According to Resolution No. 27/2024 of the Official Gazette dated 13.08.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX, such works of art will fall within the framework of the Temporary Import Suspension Regime, granting him a authorization period of 60 days.

In foreign trade, suspensive destinations, both for import and export, are a necessity to promote productive, artistic and cultural activities, to name the most important groups, as well as for use by people on trips for different purposes: professional, tourism, etc. This has been provided for in the terms of the Customs Code (article 252) and Decree No. 1.001/1982 (article 31, section 1, subsection b).

On this basis, this measure aims to streamline customs operational procedures for goods to be exhibited at “arteba 2024” given that, due to its importance, it is “a business center for Latin American art.”

To this end, Customs also indicates that works of art that enter for this purpose must be registered in the MALVINA Computer System in accordance with the procedure set out in Annex I and the model note in Annex II, both of the aforementioned Resolution.

The regulation is in force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette until September 15, 2024.
