They operated with 72 tax IDs and sold fake invoices to some 6.500 companies. Five people were arrested, another is on the run and 5 have been restricted from leaving the country.

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) carried out an operation that allowed it to dismantle an organization that was dedicated to generating false purchase and expense receipts that were acquired by more than 6.500 companies and businesses throughout the country. 2.500 billion pesos were evaded as a result of this operation.

During the procedure, 35 homes in the city of Rosario were raided and five people who were believed to be the main leaders of the criminal association were arrested. In addition, fifteen other people who were also believed to have participated in the organization were restricted from leaving the country and general property restrictions were imposed on all members of the alleged criminal gang.

In total, around 80 people were identified, including notaries, accountants, IT professionals and administrative and commercial staff. Wiretaps were used to obtain details of the criminal activity.

The gang was dedicated to setting up companies with insolvent people, invoicing with 72 different CUITS and with different types of false invoices that include paper receipts, electronic receipts, tickets, issues by controllers and fiscal printers.

The case arose from an investigation that began in the Subdirectorate General of Metropolitan Tax Operations of the AFIP and was carried out jointly with the Federal Prosecutor's Office No. 3, headed by Dr. Guillermo Reynares Solari. After an exhaustive analysis and intelligence work carried out over months and through the intervention of the Federal Court No. 3 of Rosario, headed by Dr. Carlos Vera Barros, the raids were carried out.

More than 150 AFIP officials and 200 Gendarmerie officials participated, seizing documentation and computer material relevant to the case.
