Joint driving license for travel between Chile and Argentina comes into effect

The national government published the Agreement on reciprocal recognition and exchange of driving licenses between Argentina and Chile, allowing the instrument to come into force. 

The measure, announced this Tuesday (04.01.2022) in the Official Gazette, aims to facilitate road traffic in their respective territories and benefit people who have residency in the other country with a valid driver's license.

In detail, each country will recognize valid national driving licenses issued by the competent authority of the other party for a period of one continuous year from the time of stay in the other country.
