On Friday (14.12.2018) businessmen from La Pampa led the launch of a new logistics region called “Corredor de la Ruta 5” (Route XNUMX Corridor) in Mercedes, province of Buenos Aires.
The project was presented to regional officials and private individuals at an event held at the offices of the Mercedes Logistics Park belonging to the Detall y Comercial San Patricio Group.
On the occasion of the closing meeting of the year of the Business Chambers that participate in the Route 5 corridor, the president of the Detall Group, Aldo Franco, presented the project of a transformative logistics system called P5 system.
“The logistics project has the sole objective of uniting Buenos Aires and La Pampa in a consensual way of working that lowers costs and develops the Route 5 region with an eye to the world,” explained Aldo Franco.
This transformation system, in addition to radically lowering the logistics costs associated with distribution, will facilitate commercial operations between producers and consumers, thereby promoting the access of regional products to new markets.
In this regard, Customs officials defined the large-scale project in a key location. “It is a logistics point that meets the conditions demanded by the World Customs Organization, such as self-management, trust and authorized economic operator,” they said.
Businesspeople from 15 cities participated in the event: Luján, Mercedes, Suipacha, Chivilcoy, Alberti, Bragado, 9 de Julio, Carlos Casares, Pehuajó, Trenque Lauquen, Pellegrini, Catriló and Santa Rosa, as well as exporters from the logistics region in Mercedes.
Why Mercedes?
It is a strategic place in the Province of Buenos Aires, located less than 100 km from the Port of Buenos Aires, with direct access to National Routes 5 and 7 and Provincial Routes 6 and 41, thus linking the ports of Zárate and La Plata, creating rapid access to the South, North and Center of Argentina without going through the city of Buenos Aires, avoiding time and logistical costs.
Aduana News is the first Argentine customs newspaper to launch its digital version. With 20 years of experience, its publications and initiatives aim to provide the most relevant knowledge on customs issues in order to contribute to safe trade in the region.
