Authorities from El Salvador and Guatemala met on Monday (16.09.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) at the La Hachadura-Pedro de Alvarado Border Post all with to advance the implementation of the roadmap that will speed up the transit of goods and improve trade procedures between both countries. According to information provided by the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA), this initiative seeks to reduce passage time by at least 60%.
To this end, the meeting was attended by María Luisa Hayem Brevé, Minister of Economy of El Salvador, Gabriela García, Minister of Economy of Guatemala, and Mario Salazar, Executive Director of SIECA. This meeting marks a significant step, strengthening cooperation between both countries and contributing to a broader commitment to optimize border processes, while fostering greater economic integration in Central America.
The action is part of the process of “deep integration” in the Northern Triangle of Central America, which includes Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
