The General Port Administration SE- Puerto de Buenos Aires, representing the Ministry of Transport, is working on the implementation of the new Port Community System with a view to 2019, together with the Ministries of Production and Modernization, the Argentine Customs, and the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA).
Port Community System
Last week, the Port of Buenos Aires called together various public and private organizations that have influence in the port logistics process in order to promote the interoperability of its systems in the first prototype of a Port Community System in our country, known worldwide as the Port Community System and can be extended to all ports in the country through the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE).

Benefits
This integrated port system, which will be launched in 2019, consists of the unification of systems of all public and private organizations involved in the port logistics chain and will allow for a Greater control of entry and exit to the port, as well as agility in physical logistics processes thanks to technology which includes the entire process of entry and exit of ships, trucks and trains along with the logistics chain of cargo within the port.
During the exchange with the main actors in the sector, the different functionalities of the integration of systems which results in a clear benefit for the port community reducing costs, times and which support the National Government's initiative to de-bureaucratize and de-paperize administrative procedures and processes.
The National Commission for the Regulation of Transport (CNRT), the Customs Brokers Centre (CDA), the VUCE, Customs, Port Terminal Operators, Productive Simplification, the Navigation Centre and the Argentine Naval Prefecture participated in the meetings.
About VUCE
As it is remembered that the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE) is a mechanism for facilitating international trade which allows for the digital optimization and unification in a single entry point of the information and documentation necessary to comply with all the requirements for importing, exporting and transiting products.
The VUCE allows exporters and importers to carry out, via the Internet, the procedures for obtaining permits, certifications, licenses and other authorizations for the entry, transit or exit of goods such as: food, medicines, animals, plants, telecommunications equipment, toys, etc.
