The governments of Brazil and Bolivia signed an agreement to promote the bioceanic railway corridor, during a visit by Bolivian President Evo Morales to his counterpart Michel Temer in Brasilia, on Tuesday (05.12.2017).
At the luncheon held after the meeting between the two leaders, Temer celebrated the signing of the memorandum, stressing that the connection will facilitate the export of Brazilian products and generate "trade, jobs and prosperity," according to a transcript of his speech released by sources at the Planalto Palace.
The document was signed by the two ministers in charge: the Brazilian Minister of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Mauricio Quintela; and the Bolivian Minister of Public Works and Services, Milton Claros.
The signing of this memorandum will allow to begin studies that will later allow the networks of the two countries to be integrated and thus unite the Atlantic and Pacific oceans by rail, arriving in Chile.
Morales' visit to Brazil also served to sign a cooperation agreement on public security, so that the police forces of both countries exchange information in the fight against drug trafficking in border areas.
