Official information indicates that the memorandum was signed by the Executive President of the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade (AAICI) and Mike Baskharan, CEO of World Logistics Passport (WLP) during the official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement signed between AAICI and DLW provides for cooperation in:
(a) encourage Argentine exporters and freight forwarders to register and do business in Dubai and other relevant WLP Regional Hubs;
(b) expand the benefits of Argentine WLP Hubs traders to do business through Dubai and other relevant regional WLP Hubs; and
(c) explore opportunities for joint collaboration with a view to increasing bilateral trade between Argentina, Dubai and other regional WLP Hubs.
(d) explore and develop opportunities for local logistics and trade facilitators to register as WLP partners.
It should be noted that WLP is an initiative launched by the United Arab Emirates at the Davos World Forum in 2020 with the aim of boosting global trade and diversifying market access by creating new trade routes.
