Miami airport launches facial recognition

-

Miami International Airport (MIA) became the first airport in the United States to use facial recognition technology on Monday (26.02.2018) to shorten the passport control process upon arrival.

This new technology aims to speed up customs clearance times and make international flights easier to board.

For now, machines with this software are operating in the airport's E arrivals area, which is served by international airlines such as Russia's Aeroflot, Spain's Iberia, Mexico's Interjet, Ireland's Air Lingus and Qatar Airways.
