The first meeting of “Representative Entities of Foreign Trade” was held

The Customs Brokers Centre (CDA) hosted the first meeting of “Representative Entities of Foreign Trade”.

At the meeting, held on October 14, important entities representing the sector jointly discussed issues inherent to operational and current issues, which merit immediate attention and treatment so that foreign trade operations are efficient.

The following entities participated in the meeting: AIERA (Association of Importers and Exporters of the Argentine Republic), CAC (Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services), CACIPRA (Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Production of the Argentine Republic), CAME (Argentine Confederation of Medium-sized Enterprises), CERA (Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic), CIRA (Chamber of Importers of the Argentine Republic), CATARA (Customs Transport Agents Center of the Argentine Republic), PAETAC (First Association of Motor Freight Transport Entrepreneurs), AAACI (Argentine Association of International Freight Agents), CADEFIP (Chamber of Private Fiscal Deposits), FECACERA (Federation of Foreign Trade Chambers of the Argentine Republic) and the CDA (Customs Clearance Center of the Argentine Republic).

Likewise, authorities of the General Port Administration and the Dock Sud Port Management Consortium, were present and actively participated in the meeting.

Amongst the topics covered The following were highlighted at the meeting: 

– Terminals: problems in assigning shifts for Import, Export and Empty Terminals.
– Excessive delays in operations within the Terminals, as well as outside them (ZAP) as a result of actions determined by the Terminals.
– Difficulties in communication and use of web tools on each terminal.
– Operations on days and hours that are not business days and times that complicate matters for the Comex community.
– Billing of incomprehensible charges/costs and overcharges HC Importation.
– Analysis of the global context and world trade.
– Advancement of Maritime Companies in services related to maritime transport, such as road transport and comprehensive logistics.
– Participation of the Comex Community in the future tender specifications for the Port.
– Interaction with Public Organizations.

Product of this joint action It will be the presentation of a note addressed to the General Port Administration and the Dock Sud Port Management Consortium, both regulatory authorities of TRP, APM and Exolgan, for their direct intervention in the problems that have a harmful impact on the operations of Comex.

“We have committed to holding another meeting in the first half of November, to add other topics to the initial agenda and to invite new actors to strengthen the dialogue and generate consensus,” said the CDA after the meeting that took place in the “Miguel Pastor” room and noted that “All participants in the meeting welcomed this initiative, without neglecting the sector that each entity represents but convinced that the administration of foreign trade requires the active participation of the private sector through joint dialogue and promoting proposals that the public sector can implement and contribute to continuous improvement.”
