The General Directorate of Customs, an agency that is part of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), established reference values for the export of lemons and limes, through the General Resolution 5047/2021.
The measure, published this Monday (09.08.2021) in the Official Gazette, is part of the process of reestablishing customs control and inspection tools. In this way, the reference values allow the monitoring of the prices at which merchandise is sold abroad, which is used to identify possible under-invoicing maneuvers.
To arrive at the reference values, the competent authority that regulates customs clearance used various sources of information. In addition to analyzing the values of exports from Argentina in recent years as well as databases from other countries, work was done with the private sector, with representative actors of the sector.
According to the regulations, reference values apply to sales to four group of countries: United States and Canada; Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Slovenia; China, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and South Korea; and Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
This decision is in addition to the reestablishment of 14 other reference prices since November 2019 for exports of hides and skins, pears, apples, garlic, pork, pear tomatoes, concentrated must, blueberries, powdered milk, onions, potatoes, raisins, corvina and beef.
The measure of this General Resolution is effective as of Wednesday 11th August 2021.
