It is located in the international flight arrivals sector, with the aim of coordinating border controls with other agencies and security forces.
Within the framework of the reorganization and optimization of passenger controls at points of entry into the national territory, The National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) has been carrying out actions to improve conditions in the passenger terminals where it provides inspection services.
In this regard, the company Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, delivered a new office for Senasa to carry out its tasks. In an act headed by the vice president of Senasa, Guillermo Rossi, the office was inaugurated, which aims to continue the actions to strengthen phytosanitary controls at border posts.
Also participating were officials from the Metropolitan Regional Center of Senasa, the administrator of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Javier Aschieri, the head of Customs at Aeroparque, Ronaldo Basiluk, and members of the Headquarters of the Airport Security Police (PSA).
Rossi explained that “this new space made available to Senasa is located in the restricted area – international arrivals at the airport – in order to make passenger controls at points of entry into the country much more efficient.”
"This is an inspection office to coordinate border controls with other agencies and security forces. In this international arrivals sector, luggage and pets coming from abroad are checked.. 13 Senasa people will work there. The monthly average of air traffic is 960 aircraft and 98 thousand passengers," added the official.
“For all these reasons, it is very important for Senasa to be present today and for our agents to be able to carry out this type of work that has the sole objective of safeguarding the health status achieved by Argentina,” said the vice president of Senasa.
