The President of the Nation, Mauricio Macri, together with the Secretary of Government for Agroindustry of the Nation, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, held a new meeting with the Meat Competitiveness Board this afternoon, where everyone highlighted the good prospects that are proposed for the activity, based on the opening of markets achieved in recent months.

Etchevehere pointed out that "In order to continue with the development of this sector that generates employment, investments and roots, it is important for all actors, both public and private, to take care of the trust that is being generated in international trade.«.

In this regard, the head of the agro-industrial portfolio stressed that ""If we work well, we have markets for future generations. We have to meet the demands of the world, with responsibility based on the trust placed in us.".

Officials and industry players agreed on the importance of the possibility of exporting chilled and frozen beef with and without bones, as well as sheep, pork and goat meat to China, as well as the new ties with Ecuador, Japan and the US that boost the activity and promote its development.

The producers also gave an overview of their presence at various international exhibitions such as SIAL and the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, United States.

It is worth highlighting that since the creation of the Competitiveness Roundtable, a roadmap has been established to advance in agreed actions and concrete solutions with the purpose of resolving different concerns. This dynamic has made it possible to achieve many objectives and allows for the establishment of an agenda with new goals for the activity.

Also representing the Agroindustry sector at the meeting were the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Guillermo Bernaudo; the Undersecretary of Livestock, Rodrigo Troncoso; and the President of Senasa, Ricardo Negri. Also participating were the Secretary of Labor, Lucas Fernández Aparicio; and the Director of AFIP, Leandro Cuccioli, among other authorities.
