Panama Customs announces proposals for PILA technological platform

The National Customs Authority (ANA) of Panama reported on Tuesday (17.01.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) that companies RED SOFT and SONDA, SA They are the only ones who presented proposals at the international public event for the design, development and implementation of the technological platform that includes the Customs Logistics Integration Program (STACK). 

"Representatives of these companies participated in this public event, based on quality and cost, in compliance with inter-institutional transparency," Customs said in a statement.

Customs authorities indicated that the next step is for the commission appointed for this act to proceed to evaluate the technical proposal, then a no-objection request is made to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the company that meets the minimum score will be invited to the opening of the economic envelope that is kept in the custody of the Administrative Directorate of the entity.

The Logistics Integration Program (PILA) aims to improve the times and costs of transporting goods and passengers on foot to have better traceability in foreign trade; the development of the The Technology Platform is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), at a cost of USD 75 million balboas. 

This technological platform must interact, in an automated and coordinated manner, with other specialized systems, equipment and computer systems provided by the ANA for the Paso Canoas, Río Sereno and Guabito checkpoints.

It was clarified that, in the bidding act, the Deputy Director of Logistics Juan Pablo García participated on behalf of Customs together with the technical team made up of: Xenia Jaén Tejeira, general coordinator of PILA, Iris Ortiz, Technology and Information Consultant, and Ivette Villalaz, Innovation and Technology Advisor of the Superior Office.
