Seeking to boost Guatemala's competitiveness, the Superintendency of Tax Administration (SAT) launched on Monday (11.10.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) the integration of web services with the traceability system of the Chiquita Guatemala Temporary Customs Warehouse in Puerto Barrios (northwest), to simplify and automate customs and port processes.
This traceability system is part of the actions contemplated in the Comprehensive Customs Modernization Program promoted by the Guatemalan tax administration, with which Temporary Customs Warehouse users will be able to follow, in real time, the movement of their maritime goods, indicates the SAT statement.
On the other hand, the action of Technological improvement allows the exchange of information between different actors in cforeign tradeIn this regard, official information indicates that "Pillar II of the SAFE Regulatory Framework of the World Customs Organization regarding the Customs-Business partnership to strengthen the logistics chain, reduce risks and facilitate trade" is being complied with.
The launching ceremony was chaired by the Customs Superintendent, Werner Ovalle, and the authorities of the company Chiquita Guatemala SA. Representatives of the National Port Commission, the Guatemala Chamber of Industry and the Guatemala Shipowners Association also participated.
