The Federal Administrator of Public Revenue, Florencia Misrahi, participated in the inauguration of the 2024 academic year of the Master's Degree and the Program in Tax Law of the Torcuato Di Tella University, which took place on Thursday (04.04.2024), in the City of Buenos Aires.
Opening the event, Misrahi stressed that the use of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) could mean a major change for the agency, as its use will simplify processes, strengthen oversight and reduce both time and costs for taxpayers.
The head of the AFIP began her presentation by listing the functions of the organization and highlighted the importance of modernizing processes. “It is essential that our work be transparent, innovative, that it simplify procedures and, fundamentally, that we have a vocation for service,” she said.
In this regard, the official stressed that AI could be used to leverage Big Data, algorithms, neural networks and data analytics to improve tax collection.
Application experiences
After referring to the benefits for information and assistance, in the collection function, Florencia Misrahi mentioned the cases of the tax administrations of Spain, Brazil, India, Australia and Finland as pioneers in the use of this tool.
"The new model of tax administrations requires a digital, secure and unique identity for taxpayers and citizens in an integrated manner," said the head of the AFIP, who also stressed the importance of its management in close proximity to the taxpayer.
Finally, Florencia Misrahi answered questions from the public and exchanged ideas with professors from the University who agreed with the vision of modernity and transparency as the guiding principle for a model organization.
The conference was attended by the directors of the Master's Degree in Tax Law at the University María Celina Valls and Eduardo Baistrocchi, along with more than 50 students.
