The government has decided to expand exports of kosher beef to Israel and has granted an additional quota of 3500 tons per month for that country.
This is established by the Decree 513 / 2021, published on Saturday (14.08.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, with the signatures of President Alberto Fernández, the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, and the Ministers of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, and of Agriculture, Luis Basterra.
The regulations establish that "an additional quota of 3.500 tons per month of kosher beef for export to the State of Israel ", including those goods not affected by the suspension of exports in force until December 31 and which are included in the tariff headings of the Common Nomenclature of MERCOSUR.
The grounds indicated that the Argentine ambassador to Israel, Sergio Urribarri, stated that pursuant to the provisions of Decree No. 408/21, which established the suspension of meat exports until the end of the year, he received "numerous inquiries and requests, both from Israeli importers, unable to comply with the commitments made to local distribution chains, and from Argentine exporting meat processing plants, as well as from local authorities."
According to the regulations, Israel imports about 100.000 tons of frozen and chilled kosher beef each year, and in 2020, 27.300 tons of that total came from Argentina.

This measure is effective immediately until the 31 of August of 2021, but it will be extendable by joint resolution of the Ministries of Agriculture and Productive Development, until the December 31 of 2021.
