After 26 years in force, the two-peso bills will no longer be in circulation as of this Tuesday (1.5.2018) and now they can only be delivered until May 31 at bank branches.

With this measure, ordered by the monetary authority, five-peso bills will become the lowest denomination in the country.
Many businesses had decided not to accept them, but the Central Bank warned that fines could be applied for not accepting them.
