The 800 tonnes of the Hilton Quota will be redistributed by the Ministry of Agroindustry among exporting meat packing plants, in order to enable compliance with the total of 29.500 tonnes of the high-quality beef quota for the European Union (EU), according to a resolution published this Thursday (15.2.2018) in the Official Gazette.
In order to ensure the maximum use of this tariff quota, the ruling was issued Resolution No. 14-E/2018, which establishes the composition of the fund of «free availability» and the number of tons it contains.
The criterion established by Resolution 11-E/18 for distributing the remaining tonnes is "First requested, first delivered", without conditions, so that those exporters who have fulfilled their assigned quota, will be able to continue exporting to the European Union until the end of the current business cycle or until the available balance is exhausted.
The fund amounts to 2.602,64 tons, which may be used by all interested contractors, in accordance with the provisions of current regulations.
In order to provide predictability, this measure provides that exporters can view the evolution of the fund online, when entering their sworn statements for the issuance of the corresponding certificates of authenticity, through the website of the Ministry of Agroindustry.
