In an emphatic 58-minute speech, President Mauricio Macri opened the 137th ordinary session of the National Congress by asking Argentines not to give up, not to throw in the towel, and to think that the future is in each one of us.
This is relevant for the customs and foreign trade sector:
1. The average export container rate has dropped by 50%.
2. Improved competition in the air sector and infrastructure at 19 airports.
3. Implemented digitalization in public administration.
4. Introduced the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE) which allows exporters to reduce processing times and costs.
5. Established more border controls to combat transnational crimes.
6. Various regional products entered the world: biodiesel, cherries, blueberries, meat, lemons, yerba mate, garlic, soybean oil, aluminum, shrimp, and several more.
