Through Decree 9.482 published this Tuesday (28.8.2018) in the Bulletin of the Union, the Amendment Protocol to the Agreement between Brazil and Argentina is promulgated to avoid the Double taxation and preventing tax evasion with respect to income taxes.
The protocol, signed in the city of Mendoza on July 21, 2017, aims to avoid double taxation with the Argentine Republic and avoid tax evasion.
El decree, signed by President Michel Temer, comes into force today.
What are double taxation agreements?
They are international legal instruments signed between two States, which are incorporated into the internal legal system of each of them and which have the purpose of eliminating international double taxation that affects or hinders the exchange of goods and services and the movement of capital, technology and people, exclusively benefiting natural or legal persons, resident or domiciled in one of the Contracting States.
