The Government of Uruguay announced the launch of the Digital Certificate of Origin with Argentina and Brazil starting on Monday, April 9, 2018.
The measure was announced through the General Resolution No. 22/2018 of the National Customs Directorate of Uruguay, which approves the "Control procedure for the declaration of the Certificate of Origin for Economic Complementation Agreements Numbers 2, 18 and 57".
In addition, the standard establishes the requirements and formalities for the declaration of the Certificate of Origin and clarifies that its entry into force will be from the 9 of April of 2018.
The benefit is for importers of merchandise originating in Brazil and Argentina, within the framework of the Economic Complementation Agreements (ACE) Numbers 1, 2 and 18, who will be able to use the Digital Certificate of Origin (COD) or the Certificate of Origin in paper format57.
