The African country confirmed the acceptance of the health certificate for imports from Argentina.
"Incorporate new destinations for the products, technology and knowledge generated in our territory, means expanding the boundaries of reach for the national agroindustry. We meet the needs of each sector and, precisely, this was a request from the private sector," said the Minister of Agroindustry, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, who also highlighted the joint work carried out by the National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa), together with the Secretariat of Agro-Industrial Markets, which made the opening possible.
For his part, the president of Senasa, Ricardo Negri, he stressed "the effort and technical exchange involved in agreeing on the health requirements and certificates that accompany the export of a product, in this case, equine semen" and maintained that "opening a market is a new opportunity for Argentine production to accentuate its expansion in the international market."
Negotiations with Kenya to authorize the export of Argentine equine genetics began last November.
In 2017, Argentina exported 426.320 tons of agricultural products to Kenya for a total amount of US$ 83 million.
The African country ranks 57th among the destinations for national agro-industrial shipments.
