The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) states that the change in the tax on liquid fuels and carbon dioxide that will be in effect from June 1, 2018, is a result of the tax reform approved by Congress at the end of last year.
According to the statement from the tax collection agency, the following change was made in said reform (law 27.430):It was established to update the fixed amounts of the tax on a quarterly basis based on the variations of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) prepared by Indec.
Until this reform, the tax was calculated based on a percentage of the sales price of fuel.
With these change in calculation methodology The increase in fuel prices was prevented from being greater, since the tax did not increase in line with the increase recorded in recent months in the final value of the product.
Following the legislative change, it is calculated based on a fixed value, stipulated by the standard, which is updated by the CPI.
The measure will come into effect on Friday (1.6.2018).
