Aerolíneas Argentinas reaches record in passenger transport

Aerolíneas Argentinas announced that 1.120.000 people travelled during the month of September, 18% more than in the same month in 2016, which is a historic record for the company.

"This marks a new record, the third this year, in the number of passengers transported," the company said in a statement.

Domestic flights (within the territory) grew by 23% year-on-year, and planes took off with an occupancy rate of 81,6% of their total capacity, almost one percentage point more than in 2016.

The Tickets sold by the company increased by 6,3% compared to the same period in 2016, 9,6% more than in 2015.

In September too A new route was inaugurated which connects the city of Córdoba with Santiago de Chile, and a second one that connects the municipality of Trelew, in the province of Chubut (south) with the town of El Calafate (southern province of Santa Cruz).

Aerolíneas Argentinas was nationalized in 2008, during the government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (2007-2015).
