Health protocols approved for export of key products to China

The Ministry of Economy of the Nation approved the Inspection Protocol, Quarantine and Sanitary Requirements models for the export to China of gallstones, dried plums, nuts, pork offal and wild aquatic productsThis agreement was reached in collaboration with the General Customs Administration of the Asian country.

The measure was made official today (20.11.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX), through the Resolution 1216 / 2024 published in the Official Gazette. According to the rule, "After several exchanges with the People's Republic of China, new protocols were agreed upon for the export of products of interest to the Asian giant", ensuring access to one of the most demanding markets in the world.

In this context, shipments from Argentina must comply with the requirements established in terms of animal and plant quarantine, as well as with the applicable laws and regulations of China, guaranteeing the access of these products to the Chinese market.

The measure responds to the provisions of article 20 of the Law of Ministries, which entrusts the Ministry of Economy with the Promotion of international markets for agricultural, livestock and fishery products, in addition to the intervention in the resolution of controversies that affect its commercialization. It also assigns the task of supervise phytosanitary and zoosanitary defence at borders, ports and airports, in coordination with SENASA, and to monitor sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations.

The protocols for such products will have a Valid for five years from the date of signature, thus consolidating a regulatory framework for the export of new products to the Chinese market.
