The Government appointed, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ambassador in the diplomatic service of the republic, Ricardo Ernesto Lagorio, permanent representative of Argentina to United Nations, based in New York City, United States.
This measure is made official through the Decree 99 / 2024, published in the Official Gazette.
It also specifies that the expenses required to carry out the work of this decree will be charged to the specific items of the budget of Jurisdiction 35 – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship.
The resolution was signed by President Javier Milei and Foreign Minister Diana Mondino.
The diplomat holds a degree in Political Science and International Relations (Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina Santa María de los Buenos Aires) and is a doctoral candidate in political science at the City University of New York. He has also developed an extensive career as a diplomat.
Lagorio previously served in the Argentine mission to the UN between 1982 and 1989, and in the Argentine embassy in Washington between 2000 and 2003.
