Experts will discuss procedures for trade facilitation at an international seminar

National and WCO experts will analyze the "Santiago de Chile Declaration - ASAPRA", which summarizes the "Guide to Action for Professional Customs Agents for actions related to Risk, Surveillance and Control of goods and the Customs Service – Revised Kyoto Convention of the World Customs Organization", at an international seminar to be held on Next Tuesday, February 6th at 10.30:XNUMX.

The event, which will take place in hybrid format (in person and virtual), is organized by the Customs Clearance Center of the Argentine Republic (CDA), the organization reported on Monday (29.01.2024).

Programme

The words of opening The international seminar, called "Customs Brokers. Pioneers in the facilitation of foreign trade", will be led by the President of the CDA Mr. Gerardo Pardal, President of the International Association of Customs Professionals (ASAPRA), Lic. Nelson Brens (via zoom), and Pub. Cont. Rosana Lodovico, Director General of Customs from Argentina (confirmed).

La final agenda of the seminar is structured in six panels.

The first panel on "OMA Procedures for facilitation«: Revised Kyoto Convention: Chapters 8.1 and 8.2, Customs Relations with Third Parties and the Guidelines for WCO Customs Agents, by the Technical Officer Phuntsho Dorji and moderated by Andrea Coscarello, Vice President of the CDA.

The second panel is titled "WCO Revised Kyoto Convention«: Revised Kyoto Convention: Chapters 8.1 and 8.2; Relations between Customs and third parties – Scope, and The current situation and its projection: need for the third party to be qualified as a customs broker or agent, or be qualified in customs matters. With the participation of the Dr. Ricardo Basaldúa, Co-editor of the Customs Code of the Argentine Nation, the moderator will be the Vice President of the CDA, Andrea Coscarello.

The third panel on "ASAPRA Declaration – Santiago de Chile«: Guidelines for actions related to risk, surveillance and control of goods, and customs service. The lecture will be given by Dr. Guillermo Vidal Albarracín, Co-editor of the Customs Code of the Argentine Nation and Advisor to the CDA; the moderator being Oscar Dhers, Advisor to the CDA and Counselor of the Institution before ASAPRA.

The fourth panel entitled "ASAPRA Declaration from Santiago de Chile» will be in charge of the Dr. Joe Henry Thompson Arguello, Legal Advisor of ASAPRA and Representative of the Chamber of Customs Agents, Warehousemen and Shippers of Nicaragua (via zoom). The moderator will be the CDA Advisor and Counselor of the Institution before ASAPRA, Oscar Dhers.

The fifth panel will discuss "WCO Private Sector Advisory Group«: Organization, members and Function and participation of the Customs Broker within the Group, which will have the participation of Mr. Jaime King Gancedo, President of the Private Sector Advisory Group of the World Customs Organization, and will also be moderated by Oscar Dhers. 

Finally, the sixth panel on "WCO Private Sector Advisory Group» includes Organization, members, Function and participation of the Customs Broker within the Group, with the presence of the Mr. Alfonso Rojas Gonzalez de Castilla, President of the Regional Group of the Private Sector of the Americas and the Caribbean – OMA and the moderator, Oscar Dhers, Advisor to the CDA and Counselor of the Institution before ASAPRA.
