“EduComex” was launched to train Brazilian foreign trade professionals

-

The Customs Brokers Union of San Pablo (SINDASP) launched this Monday (29.01.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) the new program "EduComex", a platform that promotes training and encourages the production of educational content with the aim of developing the training of foreign trade professionals in Brazil, according to official reports.

The platform, launched at an online event, is available free of charge to the general public and offers various courses, with high-level content, conducted by a team of experts invited by SINDASP.

Elson Isayama, President of SINDASP, celebrated: “This is an important year for SINDASP. The entity is celebrating its 75th anniversary and we have planned an agenda with important events and initiatives aimed at the continuous improvement of Brazilian foreign trade.”

The EduComex program has a "collaborative spirit," said the leader.

The new version of the Single Foreign Trade Portal (SISCOMEX) is currently active in Brazil, with features aimed at reducing time and costs for Brazilian companies.

At the virtual event, Brazilian authorities unveiled positive projections for the new year. Fiscal Auditor of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, Jose Carlos de Araujo, presented the 2024 agenda based on three projects: the SISCOMEX Single Portal, the Authorized Economic Operator and the new Remessa Conforme program, which exempts payment for the import of goods worth up to 50 US dollars.

For the Auditor Fiscal da Receita Federal, "something that connects these large projects is the joint work of the public and private sectors in accordance with international practices embodied in the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, the WCO SAFE Framework and the standards of the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT)."

And like one wheel meshing with another, Tiago Barbosa, General Coordinator of Trade Facilitation at SECEX, agreed on the outlook for 2024. He added four elements to these purposes: the AWB consultation, the import license for products subject to integrated health surveillance by MAPA and ANVISA, the payment of taxes via the Single Portal and the Flex License, that is, the authorization for multiple import and export operations, which is issued according to a specific term, quantity or value.

Thus, with the constant changes in the export, import and transit processes, the new proposal "is a great educational initiative to act in foreign trade correctly and with knowledge," said Barbosa at the end of his presentation.

This is a proposal that collaboratively integrates different axes. According to Yuri da Cunha, Project Coordinator at SINDASPThe platform currently presents topics related to import, export, special regimes, technology, logistics and general matters, promoting educational innovation in line with trade trends.

Thiago Nogueira, from the Undersecretariat of International Business of the Government of the State of São Paulo, He considered the proposal for state projects linked to trade facilitation to be favorable; in particular, the implementation of the Port Community System in the ports of Santos and San Sebastian, as well as the OEA. Regarding trade promotion, Nogueira detailed other objectives such as, for example, the association with the IDB to create a platform in the State of São Paulo within what is called Connect America to link SMEs; also, the mapping of the most competitive products of the Brazilian state and the Draback, an incentive for export.

Finally, Fabiano Coelho, Deputy Superintendent of Federal Revenue of Brazil in São Paulo, joined in the unanimous expression of the importance of the EduComex project: "Training is everything," the official stressed.

To this end, I have here the EduComex Program, where you can see all the different types of courses for Brazilian foreign trade professionals who wish to progress.
