The National Customs Directorate of Uruguay held a virtual meeting this Wednesday (31.01.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) with the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, with a view to reach an agreement between VUCEs of both countries, it was officially reported.
"TheVUCE is a fundamental tool for trade facilitation and recalled that this brings together a series of foreign trade participants who interact and that it is very important to digitalize this interaction," said the National Director of Customs Jaime Borgiani, according to the statement.
In this context, Borgiani recalled that "For more than three decades, China and Uruguay have maintained bilateral relations"and confirmed that they have allowed progress to be made in a new strategic partnership between both countries, with friendly relations in which exchanges and cooperation have taken place in various areas in favour of economic development and the activities linked to it, such as those carried out by our Customs."
Following this, the leaders and commercial and technical experts of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the National Customs Directorate of Uruguay and the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), They addressed issues such as what the mechanisms of cooperation, the requirements of the data exchange and the possible technical solutions.
Uruguay and China will continue negotiations after forming a stable working group to move forward in the search for an agreement, according to the same official source.
