The first shipment of 200 kilos of premium cuts of beef from Argentina to Japan was completed this Monday (23.7.2018) from Ezeiza Airport with the presence of the Minister of Agroindustry of the Nation, Luis Miguel Etchevehere and Governor Alberto Weretilneck.
Thus, The Rio Negro company based in Viedma, FRIDEVI, became the first Argentine meat packing plant to export beef to the Asian country.
"Both shareholders invested in the future of this meat processing plant and in the 2000s they invested more than 6 million dollars of their own money - and entirely at risk - in completely remodeling the industrial plant," explained Sergio Seisdedos, General Manager of FRIDEVI.
For his part, the governor of Río Negro, Weretilneck, said: “The fact that Argentina has been able to access this large market opens a huge door for us with very significant profitability. The first kilos of Argentine meat that will enter Japan are from Río Negro, thanks to its health status and everything that it represents.”
