The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) participates in the tests for the first time Tada – for its acronym in English Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool – , a diagnostic tool that allows for an objective assessment and also to determine the level of maturity of the organization in the context of international good practices.
According to the statement, released today (08.03.2024), “the program offers an agenda with recommendations, specific monitoring and an evaluation. Based on this evaluation, AFIP will work focusing on an improvement plan in the potential reforms to be taken into account.”
"I consider it valuable to have an organization open to the world, to be able to show in a transparent way not only what we do, but also how we do it and, in turn, help us improve our processes.”, The head of AFIP, Florencia Misrahi, said that these evaluation sessions are being held at AFIP headquarters and that the main representatives and heads of the different areas of the organization are participating.
The diagnostic assessment of tax administration using the TADAT tool is carried out by officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in conjunction with the Inter-American Development Bank.
More than 106 tax administrations have already participated in the TADAT assessments and have highlighted that it has allowed them to identify their strengths and weaknesses and to learn about and implement international best practices.
“It is essential to have an efficient and reliable tax administration. Tax collection helps finance social spending and much-needed infrastructure. An efficient tax administration is also a key pillar in the creation of responsible and respected government institutions. Achieving this goal depends on a good tax design and a solid Tax Administration,” said AFIP.
In this regard, it is noted that the Government that took office in December 2023 initiated a series of reforms within the scope of public sector institutions aimed at improving the services provided to the population.
