Panama and Ecuador sign action plan to promote the Authorized Economic Operator

The directors of the National Customs Authority of Panama, Tayra Barsallo, and the SNational Customs Service of Ecuadorr, Carola Rios, signed this Friday (25.03.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) an action plan to develop a evaluation process on the implementation and management mechanism of a Mutual Recognition Agreement for the Authorized Economic Operator program (OAS), which will streamline foreign trade operations between the two countries.

According to official sources, the actions include joint validations through their experts on this subject, review of national AEO programs to validate mutual compatibility and consistency with international standards, and evaluation of operating procedures and benefits to ensure the correct application of the Mutual Recognition Agreement of Authorized Economic Operators.

This is how the official three-day tour to Panama by the head of Customs of Ecuador ended, which included: a visit to port facilities and air terminals (where she learned about technological advances, and modifications to customs regulations, acquisition of equipment from the entity), a strengthening of ties with the Panamanian authorities, as well as activities with the private sector, within the framework of the international fair Expocomer 2022.
