Panama Customs coordinates with Bolivia actions against illicit trade

The Director General of Customs of Panama, Tayra Barsallo, held a meeting this Monday (13.09.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Bolivia, Carlos Javier Suárez Cornejo, during which the interest in maintaining fluid communication to work for the benefit of both countries was expressed.

At the meeting they established a Work schedule to achieve the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the exchange of information related to customs matters and experiences in the implementation of the Authorized Economic Operator. The common objective is the facilitation of trade, the regulation and control of express delivery companies or Courier, as well as the monitoring of mutual operational issues that need to be managed immediately.

The head of Customs said that Another topic of interest is that of effective controls to counteract smuggling. of tobacco, gold, metals, precious stones and undeclared money; he took the opportunity to report that there have already been some findings or profiling that will allow action to be taken.

During the meeting, on behalf of Panama Customs, Advisor Hitzebeth Buruyides, Head of Legal Counsel Edgardo Sandoval and Lcda. Ilda Quintero were also present.
