The Ministry of Productive Development found that there would be indications of alleged dumping of Electric water heaters, storage, with a capacity greater than or equal to twenty liters (20 l) but less than or equal to one hundred and fifty (150 l)", originating in the People's Republic of China, merchandise classified in the tariff position of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) 8516.10.00.
According to Resolution 5 / 2021, published this Tuesday (12.01.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, there are reasonable indications of the existence of dumping practices in imports of such Chinese merchandise in the period from 2017 to 2019.
The regulations also indicate that "from the analysis carried out by the National Commission for Foreign Trade, it has emerged that the prices of said nationalized products were lower than those of the national production branch throughout the period analyzed, so the Commission understood that it is probable that the Lower prices of imported products compared to domestic products result in greater demand for the imports subject to the request".
For this reason, the Secretariat of Industry, Knowledge Economy and Foreign Trade Management of the Ministry of Productive Development has decided to declare appropriate the opening of an investigation for alleged dumping in export operations to the Argentine Republic of "Electric water heaters, accumulation, with a capacity greater than or equal to twenty liters (20 l) but less than or equal to one hundred and fifty liters (150 l)", originating in the People's Republic of China, merchandise classified in the tariff position of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) 8516.10.00.
This resolution will take effect on January 13, 2021.
