New requirements for Authorized Economic Operators

-

The national government made changes to the “authorized economic operator” (AEO) program through General Resolution 4451/2019.

In the regulations, published in the Official Gazette this Monday (1.4.2019), the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) implements the requirements of the AEO program based on the concept of tax compliance and operator reliability to access important benefits that allow them to optimize the management of their foreign trade operations.

The text states that "those subjects of foreign trade or members of the international supply chain who, at the discretion of the General Directorate of Customs, comply with customs, tax and social security obligations and have, in their operations, a system of training and implementation of security measures for merchandise and integrity of the logistics chain will be admitted into the "Authorized Economic Operator" (AEO) program."

Indicates that the General Directorate of Customs or whoever it designates will be the implementing authority of the AEO program.

And clarifies that the application to enter the OAS program is voluntary and free of charge.

The measure takes effect immediately, according to the implementation schedule that will be published on the “OAS” microsite of this organization’s website.(www.afip.gob.ar/genéricos/micrositios).

The resolution is signed by the head of AFIP, Leandro German Cuccioli.
