The Central American Customs Committee, made up of the General Directors of Customs of the region, held a Extraordinary virtual meeting This Tuesday (03.11.2020), the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA) reported.
The meeting was held with the in purpose of deepen the mechanisms towards a Regional Mutual Recognition Arrangement by the Authorized Economic Operator, within the framework of the Central American Strategy for Trade Facilitation and Competitiveness, according to information from SIECA.
The technical and administrative body of the Central American Economic Integration Process clarified that the initiative has the financial support of the European Union within the framework of the Central American Regional Economic Integration Project (INTEC).
This stage of the coordinating work of the Central American Customs Committee is aligned with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and the SAFE Framework of Standards of the World Customs Organization, to strengthen the trade exchange capacity of the region.
