The Central American Customs Committee held another extraordinary virtual meeting on Wednesday (25.05.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) with the purpose of advancing on the central issues related to the subregional economic integration process, according to SIECA.
Within this framework of ideas and under the Pro Tempore Presidency of Panama, the General Directors of Customs worked on the regulatory areaIn this regard, SIECA announced that a report on the results and progress made by the Drafting Commission of the Central American Uniform Customs Code (CAUCA) and its Regulations (RECAUCA) was presented, with the purpose of announcing the steps taken in March and April, and prioritizing the work for May and June.
SIECA, in turn, stated that a courtesy was paid to the World Bank for the presentation of a proposal regarding the shipment of fast deliveryCustoms authorities also discussed how to further explore this issue with the support of this multinational organization specializing in finance and assistance.
Other points discussed were the presentation of the Report on the current status of the proposed Regulation of Operation of the Central American Customs Committee referred to the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration (COMIECO) and the monitoring of the current status of the implementation of the National Drivers Database.
The information released indicated that, in addition, elements were addressed regarding the exchange of customs information and regional platforms managed by SIECA; SIECA initiatives on compliance with the intellectual property at the border; and the follow-up to Dispatch Time Study.
