January 26: This is International Customs Day!
It is celebrated every year to commemorate the first session of the Customs Cooperation Council (now the World Customs Organization, WCO). The 2026 theme reminds us that:
"Customs protects society through vigilance and commitment«.
For this reason, we invite you to read the special message from Secretary General Ian Saunders, a text whose clear and compelling voice continues to promote the WCO's original objective: to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of customs. Furthermore, it is based on a spirit of cooperation and helps to unify the efforts of the entire community—officials and agents, traders, students, academics, and the general public—around these values and in the pursuit of the common good.
