ENAPRO: «Forwarders are a fundamental tool in the operation of ports»

-

The Manager of the Rosario Port Administration Entity, Nolasco Salazar, highlighted that customs agents are a fundamental tool in the operations of the Rosario Port and the ports of Argentina.

Salazar made the comment to Aduana News in an interview conducted within the framework of the IX National Meeting of Freight Forwarders and V National Meeting of Transport Agents which was held between September 13 and 15, 2018 in the city of Rosario, with the presence of dispatchers from all over the country.

The ENAPRO authority told the shippers "what the city's port is doing, how it has grown in technology, port infrastructure and operations." And he added that "This year we will exceed 100 thousand containers "compared to the 66 thousand we did last year. This implies a growth of more than 25 percent."

It is "a logistics process that is improving more and more in Rosario thanks to the working together from nation to province, where the nation is in charge of national routes and the province of those connected, which are very important for producers," explained Salazar.

Along these lines, he stressed that "the improvement of the Belgrano railway "which comes from Metán (Salta), crosses Chaco, part of Santiago del Estero and the north of Santa Fe, where the route was also improved. Rosario is proud of having received rails and sleepers for this improvement."

New Palmira, Mendoza

Likewise, Nolasco Salazar said that "the Ultramar and Vicentín groups, owners of the Rosario Port Terminal, support this logistics project as well as Nueva Palmira to the east of Mendoza, for the creation of a dry port so that producers can take their cargo out through Puerto Rosario with Customs clearance done at the origin.»

Cosco Shipping Company

Finally, he highlighted the important news for the logistics community to know. And as a finishing touch, the ENAPRO manager celebrated that "this last week, the Cosco shipping company announced its participation in Puerto Rosario, opening up a great opportunity to bring the region's production to Southeast Asia.»
