A report by the National Secretariat of Agroindustry estimates that, between January 1 and April 15, exports from the Argentine soybean industrial complex grew 6,5 percent compared to the same period last year.
The main explanation for this rebound, beyond a harvest that will almost double the previous one, lies in the push of flour exports,
During the period under consideration, 6.781.453 tons of this derivative were sent abroad, 80,9 percent of the total soybean complex. The sale of oil, meanwhile, stood at 1.383.917 tons (16,5 percent of the total); and that of beans totaled 213.184 tons (2,5 percent).
That is to say, 97,5 percent of what was exported corresponded to industrialized products.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, "Argentina would have a total supply of 64,4 million tons of soybeans, taking into account an initial stock of 6 million tons, 2,5 million tons of temporary imports, and the estimate of 55,9 million tons for the current campaign."
"In the first four months of this year, the export sector has purchased 3 million tons of beans from the current campaign and the industry 13,8 million, which represents total purchases of 16,9 million tons, figures slightly higher than the same period last year, although with higher purchases at a fixed price," he added.
