Customs presented the Customs Portal (PAD)

-

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) presented today (06.10.2023) a Agile and simple platform which integrates the 6 systems with which the customs service works for registration (interno) of the entry and exit of merchandise.

The "Customs Portal (PAD)» As the new tool is called, according to the DGA, «allows the automatic loading of data from a single input parameter, while registration with previous systems involved completing 18 fields, of which 5 are redundant.»

Guillermo Michel, head of the DGA He said today that "This is a first step, in the short term we want it to be used on cell phones. This new tool has to do with providing better technology and instruments to all customs and all customs officers so that they can do their work more quickly and efficiently.”

New features

The Customs Portal not only shortens times, but also provides a series of new functionalities. In this regard, the project manager, Jonathan Rainieri, from the Customs Process Reengineering Directorate, said that the tool has a tracking tray that allows for the rapid processing of registered operations and viewing of waiting times in the control area. It even allows knowing if a scanner or a binomial was involved, if the container was opened and how much it weighed, among other data relevant to analysis and control.

The DGA clarified that "The systems will be gradually integrated into the PAD«. In this first phase, it incorporates the functions of the CONTRA and the SEGCO. The next phases contemplate the integration of the four remaining systems and the interaction with third-party organisations (national and international).
