Within the framework of the 14th Biennial Conference of the IAWJ (International Association of Women Judges), organized by AMJA (Association of Women Judges of Argentina), the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Jujuy, Dr. Clara Aurora De Langhe de Falcone, will speak about Law No. 5899/2015 of “Creation of the Environmental Court and the Environmental Prosecutors of the Province of Jujuy", pioneer in the country.
The event will take place between May 2 and 6 in the city of Buenos Aires, and will host more than a thousand judges from 68 countries around the world.
It is important to note that, at the opening ceremony to be held this Wednesday (2.5.2018) at noon, the President of the Argentine Republic, Mauricio Macri, will be the main speaker; and there will be the presence of the Governor of the Province of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales, as a special guest of the President of both Associations, Susana Medina de Rizzo, among other provincial governors.
Morales' attendance validates at national and international level the Judicial Reform initiated in Jujuy in December 2015 with the aim of achieving decentralization and strengthening of the Provincial Justice.
Later, during the course of the conference, Dr. Falcone will speak about Law No. 5899, enacted in December 2015, establishing the creation of two environmental courts in our province, which are the first in the Argentine Republic, granting environmental issues jurisdictional status.
The President of the Judiciary of Jujuy has been chosen to participate in this International Conference, among the Judges of the World, as the only speaker from the interior of the country.; where she will be part of a panel that will address the topic: “Environment, Sustainable Development and Gender”, together with doctors Fleur Kingham (Australia), Peta Stilgoe (Australia), Anna Shane Kgoele (South Africa), Carolina I. Alcalá Valenzuela (Mexico), Eusebia Munuo (Tanzania) and Gleide Bispo Santos (Brazil).
Falcone's work was projected at AMJA (Association of Women Judges of Argentina), and she was selected as one of the most suitable women to share the panel with female judges who fight, in their respective countries, for the growth and strengthening of Justice.
