In a context where the digitalization of international trade is advancing globally, Argentina took a step forward in this transformation. On July 23, ICC Argentina—the local chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), chaired by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC)—organized a roundtable with the Customs Process Reengineering Directorate of the General Directorate of Customs (ARCA) to analyze progress in the digitalization of international trade, according to official sources.
In this context, the CAC highlighted that the team of the Digital Standards Initiative (DSI) presented details of the project that promotes the adoption of digital standards to facilitate foreign trade in Argentina. This global ICC initiative "aims to accelerate the development of a globally harmonized digital trade environment, key to dynamic, sustainable, and inclusive growth."

This meeting is part of a series of public-private collaboration opportunities that ICC Argentina has been promoting to advance the digital transformation agenda for trade. To this end, during 2024 and 2025, the institution held meetings with business representatives, legislators, and authorities from the Ministry of Deregulation and State Transformation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce, the General Directorate of Customs, and the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic, thus consolidating collaborative efforts aimed at modernizing and digitizing Argentina's foreign trade.
It should be remembered that this agenda was officially launched in Buenos Aires in 2024, with the presence of Pamela Mar, Executive Director of the DSI, and Marcelo Elizondo, President of ICC Argentina. On that occasion, the importance of promoting regulatory reforms, technological interoperability, and digital trust to transform international trade was highlighted, while the public and private sectors were called upon to collaborate to consolidate a digital trade ecosystem capable of streamlining processes and boosting competitiveness.
