Honduras will hold a new tender for the purchase of X-ray equipment for Puerto Cortés

The Government of Honduras, through the Customs Administration, confirmed that in the coming days will announce the date of another private tender for the acquisition of a non-intrusive recognition technology that allows for improved control, security and customs services at Puerto Cortés, which handles 45 percent of the Central American country's port operations.

The statement highlights that the acquisition of the x-ray equipment It is part of the global modernization process of the first “Strategic Plan for the Customs Service” to consolidate “the effectiveness and results of customs operations.”

At the same time, the official text reports that The previous international public tender LPI-ADUANAS-001-2001 was declared unsuccessful because the offers did not comply with the requirements established in the tender documents and the State Contracting Law and its Regulations.

In this regard, the statement adds: "the five (5) participating bidders who submitted their offers did not comply with the essential non-correctable requirements, such as the letter of expression of interest, the maintenance guarantee in relation to the amount, type and model, among other requirements."

It should be noted that this project follows the best international practices applied to customs management, and more specifically the recommendations contained within the SAFE Framework of the World Customs Organization.
