Honduras extends registration for the Customs Civil Service Assistants' Carding Project until July 31

The Honduran Customs Administration announced that the registration period for the “Customs Civil Service Auxiliary Identification Card Project” ends on July 31.

The decision seeks to regulate the entry of Customs Public Service Assistants (AFPA) into the fiscal zones, customs precincts and customs of the Central American country, according to the statement released this Tuesday (12.07.2022).

To this end, the carding project is aimed at AFPA without exception, under the modality of Customs Agents, Customs Transporters, Consolidators, Shippers, Special Customs Attorneys, Trade Operators, among others, who must request the identification of owners, general collaborators, drivers of transport units, thus strengthening the security and control of customs operations and processes carried out in these areas.

El Director of the Honduran Customs Administration, Fausto Cálix, stated in this regard: “We have granted a final extension to the Identification Card Project, until July 31, 2022. If this is not done as of August 01, any assistant who does not have their respective card will not be able to enter the customs areas.”

Steps to register

The registration request is made online through the website www.aduanas.gob.hn and the following steps must be followed:

  1. Go to the left side menu and click on the PECH portal, select the Adhesion Contract option, depending on your case select individual merchant or legal entity, fill in the required fields in the form, when you finish filling it out press “validate” the information on the form.
  2. Then press register and upload image. Once you have finished uploading the documentation, print the contract, which you must sign and present at the offices of the Honduran Customs Administration.
  3. Likewise, a username and password will be sent to your email to access the platform.
  4. With the username and password, the assistant will enter the applications and procedures section, then the card requirements, AFPA registration, then download the Registration Guide, follow the instructions, fill out the forms and upload the requested documents to the system.
  5. After submitting the electronic application, once it is complete and registered, the Auxiliary Registration Control Section will proceed to review and accept it within a maximum period of one day, provided that the AFPA complies with the requirements described above.
  6. Subsequently, the Assistant must go to the authorized printing press in the cities of Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and Puerto Cortés with the electronic request number.

Thus, the Director of Customs of Honduras urged the Civil Service Assistants to verify that their personnel have their respective registration card authorized by that administration, in order to avoid delays in customs processes and procedures.

And he reiterated: "As of August 01 of this year, the AFPA that does not have their respective card will not be able to enter the primary zones, fiscal precincts and customs of the country." (Honduras Customs Statement)
