The Government announced on Monday (03.06.2019/389/2019) decree XNUMX/XNUMX, which seeks to promote the growth of foreign trade through the integration of all public bodies related to the control of this important sector of the economy.
El decree provides that the AFIP, through the General Directorate of Customs, will create the Permanent Inter-Organic Committee (CPI) with the participation of the Foreign Trade and Productive Simplification secretariats of the Ministry of Production and Labor, in addition to private entities and other State agencies that are summoned for this purpose.
"The Committee will aim to promote procedures that reduce operating costs, facilitate foreign trade and integration with other countries., guaranteeing through them, the agile participation and effective control of the intervening organizations in the customs clearance process of the merchandise involved in international trade operations and the adhesion of multiple operators”, stated in the decree signed by President Mauricio Macri, the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers, Marcos Peña, the Minister of Finance, Nicolás Dujovne, and the Minister of Production and Labor, Dante Sica.
This decision comes in the context of the strong growth of the Authorized Economic Operator program developed by the General Directorate of Customs. This year, 90 operators will be included in this regime and 345 will join in the next four years.
The Authorized Economic Operator Program is a free and voluntary categorization granted by the General Directorate of Customs to foreign trade operators after verifying compliance with tax compliance requirements, commercial records system, financial solvency, security parameters, technological requirements and operator risk matrix.
By meeting these requirements, operators are granted exclusive channels for attention, conflict resolution, operational simplifications, improved selectivity and international recognition Mutual Recognition that they subscribe to.
The creation of this committee will allow Customs to redouble its efforts to facilitate foreign trade operations and at the same time have more effective control.
