The Ministry of Production of the Nation announced the appointment of Fernando Grasso as the new Secretary of Industry.
Martín Etchegoyen, who was in the position, will be the new chief advisor to Minister Cabrera, the ministry said in a statement.
"Fernando Grasso, was serving as Undersecretary of Industry. These changes will become effective with their publication in the official bulletin during the next few days.", the document reads.
"We need to continue improving industrial competitiveness, introduce Argentine products to the world and thus generate more and better employment. The sectoral roundtables are key to this strategy because they allow us to eliminate obstacles and boost Argentina's full industrial potential," said Minister Cabrera.
Cabrera added: “We have been working since the beginning of the administration with representatives of the private sector and workers from all productive activities on a path that allows Argentina to be a protagonist of the economy of the future. In 2017 we signed 7 Sectoral Agreements: Automotive, Motorcycles, Aluminum (within the framework of the Construction Roundtable), Textiles and Footwear, Renewable Energy, Biotechnology and Electronics. The Sectoral Agreements provide incentives for companies to invest and generate quality employment.”

Fernando Grasso is an economist who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and holds a Master's degree in Economics and Industrial Development from the National University of General Sarmiento. Before entering the public service, he was Director of Economic Studies at the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of the Argentine Republic (ADIMRA). The new structure of the Secretariat of Industry is completed with the creation of the Undersecretariat of Public Procurement and Supplier Development, headed by Sergio Drucaroff.
